23 last, a forwarding merchant named William Schuyler, left hit office. No. 7 South ttrect, and since that time has becu missing. It was supposed he had been murdered or dt owned, and his brother, Jtmej Schuyler, olfered a reward of $650, for the recovery of his remains. A dilligeut but search was in the meantime made by Hie distressed relatives.

Yeterday morning, a boat captain named Michael Brodigan, observed the body of a man Hooting upon the wave of the East river, antl immediately towed the name lo the Corlear's Hook wharf, where it was made fast. Coroner O'Donnell was notified, and upon reaching the sjsit, he se-trched tht clothing of the deceased, and ilncovejcd a gold and silver watch, (176, in money, nnd memorandum book. Thit led to the recognition of the body na that of the missing Mr. Schuyler, and the effects were recognised by Charlet W. Davis, a clerk in the shipping office uf the deceased.

There were no marks of violence visible on the body, and the manner of his death is et involved in mystery.
