In the notice of proceedings of the County Court yesterday, it was mentioned that the first Judge in his charge referred to existing abuses in the fire department in terms of repre hension. The statement should have been that the presiding Judge alluded to the fire department in terms hiehlij commendatory, and expressed much satisfaction at its highly improved condition, nnd the comparative infreqnency of false alaims, and of disturbances at fires, and indulged the hope that this important body would be true to their duty, nnd be cherished by the citizens, and be come in all respects what it ought to be. Judd. The rumored misdemeanors of Rev. Mr. Judd are exaggerated in one particular. He was not guilty of seducing his servant girl, although it is ascertained lie took improper liberties wilh her.

The atrocily of his crimes consisted in the improper exposure of children, the eldest of whom is not eleven years of age. He preached his farewell sermon about two months ago, caving as a reason for leaving the church, the delicate state of his health, which would reauire a year's travel to restore. His congregation esteemed him so highly that they gave him the highest testimonials of character, and voluntarily contributed one hundred dollars for his assistance. Ho left Brooklyn some day Inst week, shortly after which his outrageous conduct became publicly known.
